DURABILITY TESTING
OF THE SAGEGLASS IGU

The inorganic, all-ceramic structure of the SageGlass coatings provides a superior level of durability against the highly stressful environmental conditions that an exterior window product experiences over its lifetime, such as extremes of sunlight, UV exposure, and temperature.  Over the past 10 years, the SageGlass product has been evaluated for the durability of its coatings by third-party organizations including the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and industry-leading glass companies. In all of these tests, the SageGlass product not only passed, but in many cases exceeded the test standards. SAGE also has an ongoing, extensive in-house testing program, which includes natural weathering and high temperature cycling. The tests are summarized in the table below.

SageGlass IGUs are made using the highest quality sealing and component materials and best practice construction methods. The dual-seal PIB/silicone system with stainless steel spacer and in-line key IGU construction has been chosen for its reliability and longevity. It is a world-class IGU sealing system and one used by the top IGU fabricators. The system has been tested extensively in-house and by third parties, and SAGE has achieved certification for its IGU products manufacturing system from the Insulating Glass Manufacturers’ Alliance (IGMA) and the Insulating Glass Certification Council  (IGCC)
